NHS Charges

NHS dental care is arranged into 3 bands of treatment, each with a set fee.

Band 1 – £27.40

– Full record of medical and dental history
– Examination of teeth, gums and soft tissues
– Discuss any concerns regarding the condition and appearance of your teeth
– Screen mouth for oral cancer, gum disease and dental decay
– X-rays taken if required, with your permission
– Treatment options discussed
– Scale and polish done

Band 2 – £75.30
– Includes all necessary treatment covered in the Band 1 charge, plus additional treatment such as fillings, root canal treatment or extractions

Band 3 – £326.70
– Includes all necessary treatment covered by the Band 1 charge, plus more complex procedures such as crowns, dentures and bridges

Do you qualify for free NHS dental care?

Free NHS dental treatment is available if, when your treatment starts, you are:
– Under 18
– Under 19 and in full time education
– Pregnant or you have had a baby in the last 12 months

You can also get free NHS dental treatment if, when the treatment starts or when the charges made:
– You or your partner get Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-based Employment or Support Allowance or Pension Credit Guarantee Credit , Universal Credit ( in certain circumstances)
– If you are named on a valid HC2 certificate
